Summer has always been my favorite time of the year! We live in New England and basically its cold 8 months out of the year and so for two glorious months I get to sweat profusely, throw all the windows open, turn off all the heating elements and enjoy not wearing sweaters (and don’t get my wrong, I LOVE a good sweater)..
One of my first attempts at yoga was outside, in a park near my job. There was something about being outside, in the fresh air with the sun hitting my face and slight sweat forming that felt like I was indulging in a guilty pleasure – a mini vacation in the middle of my work day. I wouldn’t come back to yoga for another few months but that moment stuck with and honestly its a feeling I get every time I flow outdoors.
Being in the big wide open arms of mother nature, with the sound of the breeze through the trees, the birds chirping, and the earth beneath me, reminds me that while all the worlds problems seem so large and overpowering, when I sit, breathe or do yoga in her embrace, I am but a simple blade of grass at that moment. Sometimes swaying, sometimes still but always grateful. It sounds corny and hokey but its true – at least for me. My brains gets to turn down and my other senses get to take over for a little while.
So for my first yoga venture I am offering a Yoga class at D.W. Field park in Brockton, MA on Sunday mornings at 10am in August.
Check out our class schedule for more info.
With Covid restrictions still in place, there is a cap for how many of us can come together, so please be sure to sign up!
