Happy New Year’s Eve

WELP!!! Here we are in December.

I figured I would ride the high of the last few months, the end the year strong and do all the things but the universe was like, Sorry, no ma'am sit down.

BFD Drill School

I started December by doing some yoga with the Boston Fire Department! It was really cool but intimidating. It was the was most people I had ever led in yoga AND it was a majority of men. Lucky for me they had just finished doing an intense circuit training/HIT workout and were very open to the stretching and release and recovery I brought with my flow. I got several remarks that they thought I was going to try and "beat them up" and were pleasantly surprised.

Brockton Neighborhood Health Yogis

My time with Brockton Neighborhood Health was extended again into December.  This time the wonderful community of budding yogis wanted to get the full experience and requested we move away from chair yoga and down to the mat. It has been such a rewarding experience being able to open peoples eyes to the mind body benefits of yoga.  I think at work, people can particularly feel it because there's a before and after - the day you were having before you took the 20 min mind/body break and how you approach and feel about your day after.

While making plans for January and February I received the news that my rent would be increasing by $300 on January 1st.  Since that's not sustainable for me and  the business I'm trying to build, I knew I would not be keeping my space.

SIGH. Thats it. A huge blow to all my future plans, I had carefully laid out, through EforAll for three months.

SIGH.

Here's how I know I have grown so much over the last year. That "SIGH" only last 2 days. And it didn't even involve righteous indignation and anger (lol).  After reaching out to a few fellow tenants I stumbled upon an awesome opportunity. Join forces with Scarlet Pole Studio next door and offer classes there - I can help her cover the new cost and stay in the same building.  Since this seemed  mutually beneficial, we jumped at the chance!

So what does this mean? I thought your studio was gone?

Well, it is. Or it will be. January 1, I will be teaching my in-studio classes next door at Scarlet Studio.  This means I can open the class to more people, reach a completely new market and maybe explore a little something new inside myself as well.

I will also be collaborating with Brockton Community Schools to bring StressLess Yoga & Meditation to the educators of Brockton.  From January 16- March 12, I will offering weekly classes at West Middle School, from 6pm-7pm.  Its a series, so once you pay the one time fee, you have 8 weeks to jump in!  Please pass this along to all the teachers and TA's in your life.

I am really excited about 2024! I feel like all the things that have been scaring me and causing me so much anxiety in 2023 are just, being left in 2023, yaknow.  I learned so so much about myself and what I want and who I am inside. What are my values and why do I want to do the things I do. That its okay to just NOT want to do something.  What are boundaries and am I enforcing them. What will I allow to happen and not happen. Accepting that its okay to change and want new things. That your not to old to dream and its not too late to try something new. What has happened that colors my worldview and what is that worldview. Well maybe not that deep, but hopefully I've shed (and will continue to shed) some bad habits - from not wasting the fruits and veggies I buy to putting a stop to my people pleasing.

So I'll share a little bit of the vibe I'm hoping to bring into 2024:

What if it does work out exactly how you imagined it or even greater?!?!
